Newport Illuminated Boat Parade
On the Friday after Thanksgiving, boats decorated with holiday lights parade around Newport Harbor after dark. In recent years festivities started around 6 pm. The waterfront along Bowen’s Wharf, Bannister’s Wharf and Perrotti Park is a popular place to watch.
The parade depends on the weather. In 2025 it was moved to Saturday because of conditions on the water, so check for updates on the day.
Christmas in Newport
Christmas in Newport is a month-long celebration throughout December, with concerts, open houses, candlelit and historic-house events, and community gatherings. Many events are free or low-cost, and the schedule changes each year, so check the current calendar before you plan.
